Monday, the day before camp begins

At 11:10 am we left for a latvian memorial sight near the baltic sea. The chilling wind didn't call for a long visit but we gathered enough cultural information given the short time period. Afterward we went for lunch in a marvelous establishment. I didn't catch the name but the cashier was wearing a shirt labled "tito" as if it were the name of the resturaunt. After lunch we did a bit of sight seeing. Our first stop was a modern looking building made out of polarized redish orange glass. In this particular building was a great number of what seemed to be abstract artwork. After we explored the building for a couple dozen mins we left for a old church. In the olden days this church had the largest pipe organ in the world. But now it is only one of the largest in europe. After about 15 mins inside of the church we decided we should go. A few people had to attened to some buisness. But the rest of the group [except for a chapperone] went back to the vans. After what felt like 3 hours the other teammates finally arrived at the van. Once everyone was locked and loaded we left. Eventually we reached our destination. Where we observed the ghost tree, a landmark that represents a famous latvian rock band. In the time of this band it was illeagal to make music about politics and they did the exact opposite. Once we left the ghost tree we decided to go to a local beach. Some left early to ride a scooter that a certain youth pastor rented for a short amount of time. Once the beach visit was over [ again the wind was un-bearable ] everyone retreated back to the vans where Zip the cat took a few pictures with the campers. After the photoshoot we took the other campers back to the camp where we took a short break. Once everyone was prepared for our next location we loaded into the vans again. When we arrived at our destination i realized we were on the coastline of the baltic sea. Ruins of old soviot bunkers were all over the beach. Everyone in the christ harbor latvia mission team explored the ruins. Some of the team members followed one of the leaders into a ruined bunker that seemed to be a lookout of the beach and sea. While others "parkoured" on the huge boulderous rocks to get a great picture opportunity. Once we left the beach part of the area we went down inside of one of the bunkers and explored underground as if we were characters in a tomb raider movie. Once the exploration was over we headed back to a camp where we were greeted with an amazing dinner. That consisted of meat filled potatoes ground pork and a vegetable bowl. For dessert we had a "smoothie in a bowl" after dinner we worshipped together, had our leader training and prayer for the camp and went back downstairs for fellowship.
