A View Ahead
I want to take a moment of personal privilege and ask something of you this week. I want to ask for your prayers for the Christ Harbor staff as we prepare for a day of long-range planning next Tuesday, July 14. Once a year, we take a single day in the middle of summer to go offsite and make ministry plans for the upcoming year. This coming Tuesday, we will be looking out to January through December 2027, to determine the direction of sermons, Children and Youth ministry, Men’s and Women’s events, Adult Discipleship strategy, and so much more.
We are guided by the Ten-year Vision to be a center of Kingdom impact and influence in our community, Tuscaloosa County, and across West Alabama by helping individuals, families, and communities know and live into their unique purpose and calling through Jesus Christ, as well as our mission to Make Disciples by Igniting a Faith that Brings Eternal Purpose to Everyday Life. Everything we do is shaped by four strategically critical objectives necessary for the realization of our Vision: Increasing Leadership Capacity, Expanding Communications Impact, Enhancing Missional Engagement, and Focusing on Multi-Generational Discipleship.
Hopefully, you are already able to see how these guiding principles are expressed in the intentional way we do and discuss ministry at Christ Harbor. We are only just getting started with this focus. It’s so important to have a clear and easy-to-follow focus because there are so many wonderful Godly things we could do. But to be the people God has called us to be, we have to remain focused only on those things we must do – God’s Vision for Christ Harbor particularly. It’s a beautiful thing to know God has a whole church that He does His work through, and we are just one part of it. Each congregation is given a unique purpose, vision, and mission under the one Great Commission.
So, please cover us in prayer to hear God’s voice, to see breakthroughs, and to guard against the assault of the enemy. Guided by Vision, shaped by Mission, and powered by Prayer, God’s church at Christ Harbor is a force for His glory. Thank you for being a part.
