Good Samaritan Clinic –The Good Samaritan Clinic is an interdenominational Christian ministry that respects and promotes the dignity of all human life.  The clinic provides free primary health and dental care and information for low income persons ages 19-64 years who are medically uninsured or underinsured.  The care is provided by a wide range of volunteers including medical professionals.

Love Inc, Tuscaloosa County – Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ) networks churches across denominational lines and leverages our collective impact to bless those in need in our community. When our local churches, united in the purpose of showing Christ’s love in our community come together, we are a powerful force for transformation: not only to individuals and families, but to the entire community.

Authentic Renovation Ministry – Ministry designed to build ramps for individuals that are not financially able to obtain them.

Temporary Emergency Services of Tuscaloosa County - Is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families in crisis situations. We assist individuals and families in crisis situations in order to allow them to survive the immediate crisis they are encountering.

West Alabama Food Bank - WAFB operates a 10,000 square-foot warehouse with on-site cold storage. WAFB member nonprofit agencies pick up and distribute food to the hungry in their respective communities. Through these agencies the WAFB has distributed more than SEVENTEEN MILLION pounds of food.

Current Projects that will run until the end of November:

  1. Area Agency on Aging

When a client receives in home services for cleaning their home and personal care for bathing but they have limited items, the worker can only use what the client has available. Local churches volunteer to make cleaning kits and hygiene kits for the case managers to take to the clients home so they have the proper cleaning supplies they need.

Home Cleaning Kits

  • Cleaning Kits - Mop bucket, Mop, Broom, Pine Sol, Ajax, Bathroom cleaner and Household Spray cleaner

Personal Care Hygiene Kits

  • Generic for men or women: Hygiene Kits – Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, tooth brush, toothpaste, lotion, powder 
  1. Good Samaritan Clinic
  • Donate snacks for the workers that come straight from work on Thursdays to volunteer such as doctors, nurses, and many others.  
  • Bring a lunch meal for workers on Tuesday or Thursday.
  1. DHR(Department of Human Resources) - Foster Children Program
  • Donate toys for the visitation room at DHR. DHR emailed me that the room needs new toys for young and old. Examples: (Videos, Puzzles, Crayons, Coloring Books,)

We also will be involved in various projects in our community throughout the year.  Future projects we are looking into include Love Inc, The Little Closet Food Pantry ministry in Northside, Christian Ministry, Adopt a Senior, and many more. If you would like more information about these projects, join the Community Outreach group.  Joining the group does not commit you to a project, but you will receive information about upcoming projects.
